MSc Marine Engineering Management

MSc Marine Engineering Management

The MSc in Marine Engineering Management is offered for distance monitoring through a special e-learning platform. It is addressed to professionals who are already working in the field of shipping and to graduates related to shipping. It is a complex postgraduate program, created by the need to train executives with knowledge and skills, both in the management of shipping companies, as well as in the technical side of ship management and operation. It combines technical and administrative knowledge, because in the shipping industry there are no barriers between them. Administrative decisions can affect the reliability of a ship’s operation and, conversely, engineering problems require the involvement of management to resolve them. This specialty, by bridging these spaces, contributes to making the best decisions, preventing failures, reducing costs and increasing the efficiency of management and the quality of the fleet. The program combines the in-depth development of the principles of the Shipping Operations Management and the familiarity with technical and practical issues of daily operation of the ship, which include the “traditional” mechanical knowledge, the modern ones such as IT and cyber security, but also the future resulting from the “Fourth Propulsion Revolution”, ie the replacement of fuels with environmentally friendly ship propulsion technologies such as ammonia, hydrogen, rotating cylindrical masts and batteries.

MSc in Marine Engineering Management graduates have a competitive advantage in the shipping market, and can work in shipping companies, in positions of responsibility, in Greece and abroad. If they are already working, they are greatly improving their CV and “bowing” for higher positions in the company hierarchy, with the corresponding salaries.
