Hospitality and Tourism Management is a Science

For years, the tourism sector in Greece has been a “victim” of the country’s natural beauty. Relying on the sea, sun, and history, the tourism industry never applied professional rules to its development and promotion, neither did it utilise its extraordinary potential. But today that the shift towards quality tourism is a reality and the number of five-star hotels has grown by 48% between 2015 and 2019, hotel and tourism establishments are increasingly becoming aware of the value of a specialised Manager in a global economy. Growth prospects are huge and there is a pressing need for executives that hold postgraduate degrees.

For half a century now, BCA has been offering top-rated studies in the Hospitality and Tourism Management sector, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. MA International Hospitality and Tourism Management specifically targets graduates of various disciplines who wish to develop as specialised executives in large Greek and multinational companies, in the hospitality industry (hotels, cruises, conferences, exhibitions, fairs, sports events) or in the way such hospitality is organised (tour operators, tourist agencies).

The postgraduate degrees are awarded by the University of West London (UWL) or by Glion and Les Roches, the leading Swiss Universities with which BCA is cooperating on an academic level. The MA International Hospitality and Tourism Management postgraduate programme analyses a number of factors that jointly shape the characteristics of products in the tourism sector and explores deeper the science of managing Hospitality and Tourism establishments, also covering elements of Psychology, Social Anthropology and Communication. Studies may be conducted by physical presence, attended entirely online, or through a combination of the above.

An important BCA innovation is the creation of a boutique hotel, with all its departments, in the college’s City Campus; this functions as a simulation of a five-star hotel and enables students to combine theoretical education and practical training at the same time. Our goal is to create high-level executives who, immediately upon obtaining their postgraduate degree, will be able to assume positions of responsibility in the tourism “industry” and join the thousands of BCA graduates who already do so with great success.
