The MSc in Psychology (Conversion Program) offers a broad knowledge base on human behavior. It is addressed to people with academic or work experience in a different professional field who wish to obtain a master’s degree in psychology and to now deal professionally or academically with this subject. The curriculum is designed according to the specifications of the British Psychological Society.
Postgraduate students will study the areas that include human behavior, formal and informal, in common as well as extreme cases: emotion, thinking, motivation, brain contribution to behavior, interaction between individual and society, Behavioral differences between individuals, behavioral disorders and psychopathology. They will become familiar with the scientific method of data collection and analysis (applied quantitative statistics), while at the same time they will acquire critical thinking skills, studying and applying various psychological examples to solve problems. The Department of Psychology of BCA, through a network of collaborations (Open Psychotherapy Center, Athens International School, Aktios, etc.), enables postgraduate students to gain valuable work experience and to enrich their CV along with their studies.
Knowledge of human psychology is a valuable resource and professional qualification for many branches of Economics, where understanding or guidance of human behavior is required. At the professional level, graduates can work in areas related exclusively to psychology such as clinical psychology, mental health, counseling, forensic psychology, educational, school or occupational psychology, and neuropsychology, or combine psychology with other studies and skills such as advertising. , public relations, business management, Human Resources (HR), working in welfare agencies and other related professions, in the private or public sector.
Graduates with good performance can continue their studies to obtain an MPhil degree or a doctorate.

IT skills: participants acquire technology knowledge and IT skills, vital to their professional development (programming, web design, data management).

Dr. Touloumakou graduated with a degree in Philosophy, Education and Psychology (major in Psychology) from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She also completed an MA in Educational Psychology/Psychometrics at New York University, NY, US as a scholar of Stamatis Foundation, and an MSc in Counselling & Career Guidance at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. After working for some time with European and Nationally funded research projects, she completed her PhD (DPhil) in Educational Psychology, at the SKOPE Centre, University of Oxford, UK as a scholar of the State Scholarship Foundation and the Economics and Social Research Council.
She undertook post-doctoral research regarding language skills among children with adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) who live in institutions (compared to matched peers) as a State Scholarship Foundation scholar between 2017-2019, at the Department of Primary Education, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Dr. Touloumakou has been teaching Educational Psychology, and Developmental Psychopathology at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences since 2016. She specialises in adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and the implementation of trauma-informed practices in schools to support children with ACEs.
