International commercial law: the legal background of extroversion

The LLM International Commercial and Business Law postgraduate program, based on common law, focuses on international economic law and the modern financial legal framework. It trains the student to understand the dynamics of international commercial law, the legal regulation of transactions, problems related to competing national jurisdictions, the parameters of corporate governance, competition law and international economic law.

The program is aimed at a) law graduates, who want to specialize in a competitive industry and handle international trade matters inside and outside the court b) professionals with similar backgrounds, who are active in international business and commerce, and want to obtain further academic and practical tools.

The aim of the program is to produce professionals with developed legal skills, so that they have attractive job prospects in international organizations and multinational companies. The LLM International Commercial and Business Law places particular emphasis on the ability of students to undertake legal research and analysis. The main course is the elaboration of a dissertation, which includes research and analysis on an important legal issue of international trade.

The program consists of 6 sections, plus the Research and Dissertation section which is the most important. Each module participates in the final score with 20 credits with the exception of the Research and Dissertation module which participates with 60 credits.

The modules offered are: International Commercial Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, International Corporate Governance, International Competition Law, International Finance Law, International Business Negotiation and “Research Methods and Thesis”.

The LLM International Commercial and Business Law also includes a preparatory section entitled General Principles of English Law. The purpose of this module is to provide an adequate background on the general principles of English law so that students from other countries can adapt quickly to the course.

Entry Requirements

Studying at BCA, you live in Greece but you are exposed to the learning experience designed and provided by a high-level British or Swiss University and you are awarded the same, Bachelor & Master degrees, awarded to UK and Swiss students., which are recognized in the Greek and international labor market. In addition, you will benefit from the digital technology with the specialized online educational platforms developed by BCA and incorporated into the Blended Learning philosophy.

The programmes of study provided by BCA College are further enriched with industrial visits, seminars and lectures organised during the year in parallel with the curriculum. These co-curricular  activities bridge the academic theory taught in classrooms with current professional practice, transfer students’ know-how and expertise in real time, and connect them with renowned executives, entrepreneurs, and people with key positions in their field.

Applicants can be admitted to the course as long as they possess:

  • a second class honours degree from a UK University, or
  • a Ptychion of 6.0 and above from  an AEI University or
  • a Ptychion of 7.0 and above from a TEI University, or
  • a Bachelor from an American University with GPA 2.75 and above or equivalent qualification.

Applicants are also required to submit one of the following certifications:

  • IELTS: a minimum score of 6.5 (with a minimum score of 5.5 in each component of the test)
  • Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE): Pass at C1 level
  • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): C and above
  • Cambridge English: First (FCE): B and above
  • Examination for the Certificate of Proficiency in English (ECPE): P( Pass) and above
  • Pearson Academic (PTE): 53 (with a minimum score of 51 in each component of the test)
  • BCA IELTS Placement Test: a minimum score of 6.5 (with a minimum score of 5.5 in each component of the test)
  • Other English language qualifications may be considered.

Intensive English classes are provided to those students who do not meet the English requirements.

Δρ. Ζωή Αναγνωστίδου

H Δρ. Ζωή Αναγνωστίδου αποφοίτησε από το Τμήμα Οικονομικών Επιστημών του Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλίας το 2004. Στη συνέχεια, πραγματοποίησε μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Bath (UK) με αντικείμενο το Μάνατζμεντ, και εκπόνησε τη διδακτορική της διατριβή στο Οικονομικό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών (Tμήμα Μάρκετινγκ και Επικοινωνίας)

στο πεδίο της Συμπεριφοράς Καταναλωτή. Από το 2008 διδάσκει μαθήματα μάρκετινγκ και επικοινωνίας και έχει παράλληλα εργαστεί ως ανεξάρτητη ερευνήτρια και σύμβουλος πάνω σε διάφορα project. Τα τρέχοντα ερευνητικά της ενδιαφέροντα εστιάζουν στη συμπεριφορά και ψυχολογία του καταναλωτή και την εταιρική κοινωνική ευθύνη.​

These postgraduate titles, which can also be obtained with a degree or honors, are awarded to those students who have completed a part of the postgraduate course.
