Dr Nikos Kagkarakis

Dr Nikos Kagkarakis holds a PhD from the Department of Maritime Studies of the University of Piraeus (2017), a MSc in Shipping from the same University (2011) and a BSc in Accounting and Finance from the Athens University of Economics and Business (2009). He is also a CFA charterholder and an active member of the CFA Institute and the Hellenic CFA Society.

Dr Kagkarakis is a Visiting Lecturer in the postgraduate programs of the Department of Maritime Studies of the University of Piraeus, where he teaches ship finance-related modules. Since 2018 he has been teaching the modules of Shipping Finance and Advanced Shipping Finance in the undergraduate program of the Department of Shipping and Transport of the BCA College.

He has published articles in the field of Maritime Economics in international academic journals and has participated in international academic conferences. His research interests focus on the fields of shipping finance, risk management and financial analysis. Since 2012 he has been working in the banking sector and more specifically in the ship finance business area.
