Strategic Management for Tour Operators, Travel Agency, and MICE

This module develops the knowledge of the fundamentals associated with Travel Agencies and Tour Operators business using contemporary technology. Software and digital platforms owned or operated by different companies that enable transactions between travel industry service providers, mainly airlines, hotels, car rentals, ships, and travel agencies. In addition, students will learn to develop and sell tourism packages based on the needs and desires of domestic and international travellers.

Students will be firstly introduced to professional views of Travel Agencies and Tour Operators. Furthermore, they will review types of individuals that become travel agents and tour operators. The module will focus on principle forms and sources of travel agency and tour operators’ business which opportunities are recognised, evaluated, and developed into viable business ideas in the industry. Furthermore, students will be introduced to the concept of tourism packages development, promotion, sale, and its importance to Travel agencies and Tour Operators worldwide and in Greece.
