This course introduces students to learning disabilities, developmental and physical disabilities and emotional and behavioral disorders. This course in intended to increase students’ awareness of challenges presented to individuals with disabilities in everyday situations and in schools. Students will explore their own view and biases regarding disabilities and will be invited to take a role as agents of change. Issues of synergies with the family, stress, early intervention and advocacy will be covered too.
