Mr. Nikolaos T. Athanassoulis holds a Bachelors’ degree in Environmental Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of Patras (2006), a M.Sc. in Energy Management and Environmental Protection Systems jointly covered by National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and University of Piraeus (2012) and a MBA degree from the National Technical University of Athens jointly with Athens University of Economics and Business aka “Athens MBA” (2017). At present, he is a PhD Researcher in the Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics (LIEE) of the Department of Chemical Engineering of NTUA and he is devoted to the research field of Energy Planning and Sustainable Resource Management.

He has obtained more than fifteen years working experience in environmental and energy consulting sector, having participated in and/or coordinated numerous environmental impact assessment studies, research projects and programs in collaboration with top rated consultancy firms, first class research institutes and governmental agencies. In addition, he has developed remarkable research track record having a plethora of publications in reputable scientific journals and he has participated as a speaker in a few international conferences.

Mr. Athanassoulis is also active in the green entrepreneurship community while he is also participating as a mentor/ coacher in various start-up programs and committees. Since 2018, he is the Lecturer of Environmental Economics and Coastal Zone Management modules for the senior 4th year of the Business College of Athens B.Sc. in Shipping.
