Evaggelos F. Darousos

Evaggelos Darousos is an economist, and PhD candidate at the World Maritime University (Sweden) under the auspices of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), a specialized agency of the United Nations. He holds a Master’s degree (MSc) in Maritime Operations and Management from City, University of London (United Kingdom, 2014) and a BSc in Maritime Studies from University of Piraeus (Greece, 2013).

Evaggelos’s research is focused on the areas of Maritime and Corporate Governance, Shipping Business Management, Maritime Economics, and Sustainable Development in the maritime sector. He has participated in academic volumes and journals and has numerous international and national conferences. A BCA lecturer and module leader since 2018, Evaggelos teaches Shipping Management and Research Methods at postgraduate and undergraduate level, traditionally and online, often supervising student dissertations in similar topics. At the same time, Evaggelos works as a business consultant for strategic investments and project funding in the areas of shipping, real estate, and energy. In the past, he has worked in the IMO headquarters in the UK, and in the financing and shipping sectors in Greece. He has also acted as a board of director, and audit committee, member in public and private companies.

Evaggelos is fluent in English, French, and Spanish, and is a member of the Economic Chamber of Greece, the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME), and the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS).
