Dr Ioannis Manolopoulos holds a B.Sc. degree in Physics (2003) from the Department of Physics, University of Patras, Greece. He also received the M.Sc. degree (with distinction) in Communication and Network Systems (2007) and the Ph.D. degree in Networking (2015), all awarded by the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. From 2008 to 2012, he was with the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications (I.I.T.) of the National Centre for Scientific Research (N.C.S.R.) “Demokritos”, Athens Greece, as a Ph.D. Scholar.
In the years 2012-2014, he had been working in telecom engineering company “Future Intelligence Ltd”, located in Athens Greece at the Technological and Scientific Park of Attica “Lefkippos” of N.C.S.R. “Demokritos”. He is currently a Research Fellow and a member of the Telecommunications Network Laboratory in the I.I.T. of the N.C.S.R. “Demokritos”. Since 2008 he has participated in several national and European-funded R&D projects on Network Science. Since 2013 he is teaching in BCA College the courses of “Information Technology Skills” and “Quantitative Skills”.
He has published papers in peer-reviewed international academic journals and conferences. His research interests include wireless networking, modeling and performance analysis, network measurements, mobile peer-to-peer computing, position and motion-based routing, quality of service guarantees in mobile ad hoc networks, delay-tolerant, vehicular, sensor, and social networks.
