This module will refer and analyse the administrative practice of Rooms Division in the hotel industry. The students will learn about inventory, control and main elements of effective Rooms Division Management. Furthermore, students will learn about short-term and long-term planning. Moreover, issues and topics of specific steps of programming process, business decision making, reservation process, communication, motivation and conflict management will also take place in the learning process. In addition, students will learn the four systems of leadership: a) Exploitive-Authoritative, b) Benevolent-Authoritative, c) Consultive and d) Participative. The students will be capable of using and understanding hotel software (Opera and Protel) in managerial functions such as room allocation, correction of room charges, void invoices, room statistics, turndown management and analyzing reports.
