This module introduces to different assessment practices and procedures to improve student learning. The focus is on authentic assessment, standardized tests, and developmental screenings. The module addresses all forms of assessment (informal, norm-referenced, criterion-referenced, curriculum-based). It also covers the various measures to assess children with special needs and children from linguistically and culturally different backgrounds. Advantages and limitations of assessment techniques will be discusses as part of this module.
