The module firstly introduces students to programme and portfolio management concepts and terminology. Following, students will focus on the following topics: programme and portfolio management fundamentals (such as basics of programme and portfolio deployment, performance domains, life cycle), programme and portfolio manager roles and differentiations, programme and portfolio strategy alignment (such as alignment with organisational strategy, business cases, road maps, environmental analysis and phase-gates), programme and portfolio benefits realisation and management, stakeholders identification, engagement and conflict resolution and prioritisation, programme and portfolio governance and team management (structure, roles, functions, responsibilities, build/lead/off-board teams), programme and portfolio life cycle management (phases, benefits, closure), programme and portfolio Management infrastructure (procurement, infrastructure , monitoring, risks, controls, quality, communication), effective programme and portfolio management (resource management, deliver on time & on budget), various industry case studies, within the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the PMBOK framework.
