The module covers a multitude of topics related with the supply chain of drugs and drug-related goods. The topics include all the basic and specialised knowledge regarding the existing production processes, the warehousing and the management of pharmaceutical goods and vaccines, as well as the economic and the managerial challenges in all the spectrum of the supply chain. The module addresses the basic concepts regarding the area of the pharmaceutical logistics. Additionally, it discusses the special warehousing and distribution requirements of pharmaceutical goods. It continues with addressing the role of the inland, maritime, and air transport in the supply chain of pharmaceutical goods. Furthermore, the module examines the basic cost-related knowledge in the field of pharmaceutical logistics, as well as the quality standards applied in pharmaceutical Logistics, such as the Good Distribution Practice (aka GDP). Finally, the module addresses the information systems used in the warehouse management of pharmaceutical goods, and in monitoring and controlling of the quality of pharmaceutical goods during transportation.
