The module provides students with knowledge on basic state-of-the-art maritime technology. It also shows the way of future developments as dictated in the frame of digitalisation, environmental protection, safety and security aspects, and provides students with the capability to work within a systems engineering context.
The module also applies principles of developing a process of building clear, comprehensive, and defensible arguments regarding the safety, environmental and security properties of systems.
Finally, it provides students with knowledge on the relation of Maritime Technology to statutory instruments, Classification / Insurance requirements and markets, and familiarises students with safety, security, and risk analysis methodologies.
