The module aims to build the students’ understanding of the shipping industry by explaining the role and functions of shipping in key areas: Trade, Ships and Cargoes, to prepare students for Maritime Economics as it defines all aspects of shipping, and to welcome the foundation to expand the students’ general understanding of this exciting and dynamic industry. It focuses on commercial geography, international trade, overview of ships and of cargoes, contracts of carriage, and ship registration and classification.
