The module aims to provide students with knowledge of Logistics principles,
the underlying framework of Logistics mechanisms and concepts, and to expose students to the current Logistics strategies applied to the shipping industry.
The module introduces the student to the main concepts of international trade, Logistics and Procurement Management. It focuses on Transportation Management, analyses the concept of Distribution Centers, examines the principles of Inventory, Warehousing and Procurements management. Additionally, it introduces students to Maritime Logistics and explains the main Logistics issues in container, tanker, and bulk shipping.
