e-Commerce and User Experience

This module outlines the history of e-commerce and explains the various e-commerce types. It explains the key concepts and the latest empirical and financial data from current global E-commerce marketplace, including top companies such as Facebook, Google, Amazon and more, illustrating how E-commerce is altering business practices and driving shifts in the global economy. It outlines the e-commerce shopper, personalised and emotion-oriented e-commerce and brings User Experience at the forefront of the decision-making process in designing products, services and – more importantly- E-commerce websites.

The module also explains the procedures for creating an E-commerce website; from the prioritizing of the business objectives, counterpointed by brand identity, to creating user journeys, blueprints, and design templates, while also considering web ethics, legal aspects of e-commerce and security issues.
