This module is designed to develop students’ knowledge and understanding of developmental psychology in the areas of cognitive (perception, langauge, reading, memory, attachment, identity, social cognition), social and emotional development from infancy through to adulthood (siblings and peers, socialization, socio-moral develoment, cross-cultural perspective), and theories of development. Focus is almost exclusively on typical populations. In this module there is also a discussion about methods employed by developmental psychologists and major conceptual issues.
