This module focuses on the history of ideas in developmental theory, research methods used by developmentalists, early perceptual development, cognition, language, development of the self -including gender development, attachment and play- and social and cultural influences on development. Examples of topics to be covered include congitive development, temparement, attachment, language development, socio-emotional and moral development, and cultural issues.
