The course utilizes a scientist/practitioner approach to familiarize students with the assumptions, theories, strategies, applications, and ethical and legal considerations related to counseling psychology. The course is designed to provide students with a knowledge and understanding of the psychological processes that direct counselling and therapy. It is not designed, however, to teach students how to conduct psychotherapy.
