This module provides an overview of cognitive psychology, investigating the mental processes that allow us to perceive the world around us (attending to it, storing information, communicating through the use of language). The module is designed to help students develop their knowledge and understanding of cognitive psychology in the areas of perception, attention, thinking, memory, and language. The focus is on evaluating contemporary research and the historical development of research, drawing on experimental and computational approaches.
