This module provides an understanding and analysis of voyage charterparties in relation to the conditions and warranties. Terms like preliminary Voyage, Arrived ship, Loading Operation and Freight will be clarified. Students will be introduced and will be able to compare Voyage and Time charters and learn the obligations of Charterers. The different types of vessel, safe ports, period of Ηire and trading limits are examined. Finally, the legal elements of Hague/Visby rules, Rotterdam rules, exceptions and limitations from Carrier’s liability and the bills of lading issued under charterparties will be examined also.
