Budgeting and Project Financial Control

This module aims to show that Capital Budgeting Decisions and Project Financial Control is about shaping an organisation to maximize its effectiveness making better use of its cash flows and sources of funding. Through breaking down departmental barriers, seeking improved supply efficiencies, time management, teamwork and collaboration and working towards better Project management, organizations can enhance their performance and ensure that project and organizational goals and targets are achieved. The module also focuses on how Capital Budgeting Decisions enhance organizational performance and growth.

The ability of organizations to manage Project efficiently through Financial Controlling and Reporting is critical to their survival whether these organizations are small start-ups or large, established multinationals. While competitive advantage can come from size, location, or the possession of rare and inimitable resources, the pattern is increasingly favoring those organizations which can mobilize market and technological skills and experience to make efficiently Capital Budgeting Decisions, and Economic Analysis of Investment Projects, in the ways in which they create value to products and services. The module will clarify what Capital Budgeting Decisions are, and how Project Financial Control and Reporting can be organized and managed in firms in order to create value.
