27th Annual Greek economy conference «Greece and the Global Disruptive Environment: A look into the future»

On the 28th and 29th of November 2016 the annual conference «Greece and the Global Disruptive Environment: A look into the future» of the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce took place and met with great success.

BCA’s senior year students of the BSc in Marketing and the BSc in Accounting & Finance programmes attended the conference, which was comprised of sessions related to various financial and marketing topics.

More specifically, keynote speakers including speakers such as Mr. Hugh Harper, EMEIA Financial services strategy & operations leader at EY, Mr. Stefanos Mytilineos, Deputy General Manager of Piraeus Bank Group and Mr. Damianos Charalambidis, Executive General Manager - Chief Digital Officer and Retail Banking Products at Alpha Bank, analyzed the current situation in the Greek economy, the changes and the type of investments that need to be made.

Additionally, speakers including Ms. Maria Fountas, Country Marketing Manager of Google in Greece and Bulgaria during the conference, analyzed various contemporary marketing issues, including the topic of e-commerce. A panel discussion titled “The challenges of the digital era for industries, the retail market and consumers”, with the participation of Ms. Ζeta Chimonidou VP of Marketing & Strategy at AB Vassilopoulos and Mr. Dimitris Theofanous.

The first day of the conference ended with a talk from Mr. Pierre Moscovici, European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, and the second day with a talk from Mr. John Dragasakis Deputy Prime Minister of Greece.

It should be noted, that BCA’s students had the opportunity to talk with the President and the Secretary General of the Chamber and the CEO of Cisco in Greece, Cyprus and Malta.
