An “ocean” of professional opportunities

The Department of Postgraduate Studies in Shipping, Transport and Logistics offers high level scientific specialisation and know-how in three interlinked sectors that dominate the modern globalised economy. The specialised executives graduating from the programme are ready for a prestigious career in a large number of companies, organisations and bodies in Greece and abroad. Our graduates may pursue careers in:

  • Maritime transport companies
  • Banks, assuming positions of responsibility in their shipping departments
  • Shipbuilding and repair industries
  • Greek and European government agencies supervising the shipping and ship repair industries
  • International maritime and shipping organisations
  • Insurance companies with a shipping portfolio
  • Organisations such as classification societies and P&l Clubs
  • Ship fitting and supply companies

Greece, Europe’s “gateway” to trade with Asia and Arabia, with the largest merchant fleet in the world (20% of the world’s tonnage is Greek-owned) and a maritime tradition dating back thousands of years, is the ideal starting point for a career without limits or borders.

BCA was the first college in Greece to offer specialised shipping studies. For the past half century, BCA has been supplying both Greek and international shipping with high-level executives.  On several occasions, Greek shipowners have publicly expressed their appreciation for the level of studies at BCA, as well as their confidence in the college’s graduates. The postgraduate department of BCA collaborates with the University of West London, an award-winning University distinguished in business studies, which awards the relevant degrees.

If they wish, students can participate remotely in all of the department’s activities, i.e. lectures, exercises, assignments, speeches and workshops, through the Blended Learning system and the innovative digital platform that has been created by BCA specifically for this purpose.
